Genny was born in Seoul, Korea. She has lived in the Hampton Roads area since the 1980's. She is also a Notary Public and Certified Paralegal with 30 years of experience in the real estate field. She is a graduate of Christopher Newport University, having earned her degree in Governmental Administration. She is a member of the York County Chamber of Commerce and volunteers with the Special Olympics and a dog rescue organization. She is also a USA Swimming official and enjoys volunteering at swim meets. Genny lives in Yorktown with her husband, two children, and rescue dog. When she not at a swim meet, she enjoys traveling and trying new restaurants
